Morning play time
Mr. Strong Neck was really showing off for Aunt Amy!
On another note, one year ago today, my life changed forever. I found out I would be a mother! People say your life changes forever with kids, but mine changed so much when I found out I was pregnant.
I'll never forget the utter shock of finding out, telling Kirk in
Mexico, being so sick, keeping the secret, telling my family at the
reunion, hearing his heartbeat, telling Melinda and Portland book club (and NY friends and others), seeing his ultrasound, finding out he didn't have downs syndrome, the back pain, the cravings, sleeping on my left side, the heartburn, sitting in his room imagining a child in there, the indescribable contractions, the completely surreal delivery, and finding out it was a boy.
My sister had told me that without a child, she had been 99% happy but
with a child, her cup runneth over. What a perfect description.
Thanks to my family, my cup runneth over.

Hudson getting set for a ride in Daddy's car
Who says the TT isn't kid-friendly? There's PLENTY of room (once you move the passenger seat forward, open the hatchback, and jam in the car seat)!

Latest measurements
Had to take Hudson to the doctor for two more shots today and got the official measurements - 15lbs 12 oz and 26" long. He turned 15wks old on Sunday. Per our wk by wk guide, that is the size of a 6 month old!
New Toys for the Big Boy
Over the weekend Kendra and I decided to get some new toys for Hudson now that he has gotten some good neck stability - the Bumbo chair and a Johnny Jump Up. Hudson really didn't know what to make of sitting in these without someone holding him. We'll work up to more time, but I think he had fun for a minute or two. :)

The sounds of laughter
Thursday night when I got home from work, Hudson treated me to a special treat - he just laughed and laughed. What a great way to start my 12 week stint as Mr. Mom. - Kirk
