Nobody tell Hudson that Santa sneaked into his picture this year! We went to Gruene for the second year last weekend. Hudson wasn't so crazy about him this time!

First Christmas Tree Ornaments

Hudson brought home his first Christmas tree ornaments from pre-school today! Hopefully he has some of DeeDee's talent and becomes a budding artist.

Tennis Anyone??

Hudson found a ball & racquet on the playground today. So he quickly grabbed them and ran over to the tennis courts before starting to play with them. Of course it was more fun to kick the ball than throw or try to hit it with the racquet.

A fun locale to play cars

It is chilly in Colorado, so we have spent lots of time running thru lobbies, riding the alligator (elevator), etc. And playing cars on the edge of the fountain can entertain for hours!

Bus, Bus!!

Bus, Bus!!
Originally uploaded by Kendra & Kirk Wright
Since getting a toy school bus during Buela's last trip, he can't go anywhere without it. (including bed.)

Today Hudson had a fun play date with Ms. Christine. While they were out he saw this bus, eagerly wanted to play with it, and said "Hello bus!"

Brave Boy

Hudson fearlessly tackled the big kids area of the Bounce House on Friday. (although midway through Daddy got a little fearful watching) :)

Cars in the Driveway

Hudson and Truman had a great time today racing cars on the track down the hill in the driveway. Two very happy boys. :)

Of Course I Can Feed Myself Yogurt

Buela is in Austin this week to help take care of Hudson while Kendra is in
Portland. Today Hudson showed her how he can feed himself yogurt at lunch.
He wasn't too sure about the interruption of lunch for a photo shoot though.

Morning Play Spot

Hudson discovered a fun spot to play with his cars this morning. It started when he needed to reach his truck that had rolled through the stool legs, so he proceeded to follow it under the stool. He spent 10 minute crawling in and out of the rungs.

Pumpkin patch

We took a quick trip to the Tarrytown Methodist Church pumpkin patch the other day.

Our friends the Haneys invited us, and we try and never pass up a little time with their darling daughter Abigail (as you can see, Hudson likes her too!).

Hudson wasn't too sure what to think about all these pumpkins...

But we were able to get a couple pics of the rascal.

Including one with daddy!

Hi Kitty Kitty

The extent that Hudson loves animals is hard to describe. But this video of Hudson trespassing on a neighbor's property to talk to the kitty gives you an idea.

Where's Hudson?

Once again it was a little too quiet after I left Hudson in the living room to grab something in the kitchen. As I started looking and calling for him, I couldn't find him. (He now likes to occasionally hide behind a chair.) When I turned into our bathroom, here's what I found. We spent the next 15 minutes practicing the words "in" and "out" while stepping in and out of the shower and opening and closing the door. :)

Basketball Practice

Every day we go to the park and Hudson tries to find a game of pick up basketball. Yesterday nobody was playing (thank goodness), so he just practiced his lay ups.

First matchbox cars

It was a big day for Hudson yesterday. He got his first matchbox cars and was sooo excited! His mom remembered fondly brother Craig playing with them for hours on end and loved getting them too. :)

Our Drummer Boy

Hudson does love the drum in his music class!

Watch it here:

One word, but with Authority

Hudson's vocabulary is coming along, but it's always good to see that he fully comprehends what you are saying to him.

This video speaks for itself. :)

Hitting the court

Oh how Hudson loves a good game of ball. Today I brought a ball to the park and as soon as he saw it, he made a beeline for the court. I'm not saying we have a basketball player on our hands, just that he loves balls and courts and games. And that he's very tall.

Sorry we're so late getting these up, but we had such a great time in Seabrook with Buela and Papa, and there are some extra cute photos to prove it!

Had to see it to believe it!

Hudson had so much fun with Auntie Jen and Corley this weekend, he was tired out! He was still asleep when I went to get him today, making great use of the paper doll quilt from Dee Dee (obviously made before we knew he wasn't a she)and cowboy quilt from Mrs. Emerson. And it was his first morning not to cry when Kirk left - big! BUT Hudson escaped his classroom and made it all the way down the hall to the playground before they noticed. He's a runner!!

Hudson had a great time painting today in preschool. Hudson's fab teacher Ms. Judi is in the back. Thanks to Jen, another mom, for sending me these!

Fun with a Train

Since it rained this morning, we went to a friend's house rather than the park. Hudson loved all their cars and especially the trains. So much fun.

Hudson and buddy Helena

Today we went to the park with Hudson's school friend Helena. So cute! His mommy Rachel and I want them to be big buddies to make school a little easier.

More Preschool Pics

Ms. Christine said she misses Hudson so much and wants to know what Hudson is up to, so we thought we'd post a few more more pics of Hudson's classroom and new friends. This post is dedicated to Ms. Christine, who I know Hudson is going to miss terribly too!

This is Ms. Judi, trying to get Hudson to look at the camera!

This is Ms. Joanne, who Auntie Melinda says is FABULOUS and who oversees all three toddler classes.

This is his classroom, with all the parents milling around. There are three classes of 8 toddlers each, all in ONE classroom! Yes, they even nap together in this room! (I will believe it when I see it!)

Another classroom shot.

Here's Hudson playing with Ms. Judi on his favorite thing in his classroom, the train set!

Loves that train set!

We think Hudson is going to be a happy boy at pre-school! We'll let you know! School starts on Monday!

Meeting Ms. Judi

Today we went to Meet the Teacher day at Hudson's new pre-school. He met Ms. Judi in the pretty blue outfit, and she was so nice. But his favorite part was the awesome train set they had. Fun!

Day 2 at Camp

Much better day at camp today. No crying and Hudson played in all of the activities.

BTW...the teary picture from yesterday was at home before he even got in the car. :)

Big Boy at the Bouncehouse

Sunday was only his second time to Kidz-N-Play, a giant indoor bouncehouse, and he acts like he has been playing there forever. What a fun time!

First day of camp

I'm going to be honest - today was a hard day. I didn't think it would be that way. Hudson was going to his first day of CAMP - a super fun sounding morning activity that I thought would ease him into preschool next week.

But Hudson got up (early!), seeming to have his teeth hurting again (we've had such a nice break). We tried Motrin, but it didn't seem to help.

Things got harder getting Hudson ready for camp. Since it was Western Day at camp, I tried to put a bandana on him. I'm not sure which he hated more, his bandana or his fab backpack from the Walkers.

Then we got there and Hudson was fine for 2 minutes, exploring the room.

But then, he cried for the better part of the hour, so much so that the counselor texted me a photo to show me that he was reading this book over and over, so he was "fine." (I didn't point out that it was a gymnastics camp.)

Before we left, I gave Western Day one last chance, but Hudson was only moderately amused.

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow!

Happy Left Handed Day

Here is Hudson yesterday - celebrating the holiday or foreshadowing what is to come?!

We also went to the doctor yesterday. Hudson is still 95-100th percentile (34.5) in height and perfect weight (25.6 lbs).

He still isn't very communicative (except non-stop babbling), but Dr. Dawson wasn't too worried. We think Hudson is putting all his energy into making his old mommy and daddy chase him!

No shirt, no problem!

When Hudson gets so dirty in the park that Miss Christine has to give him a bath before lunch, we know if was a fun day!

Shoots and Scores

Hudson loved it this evening when we put his new basketball goal together. If his reaction was any preview for days to come, we may have quite a ballplayer on our hands. (We may also quickly learn why Mom always said "Don't play ball in the house!") ;)
